Exchanges provide the most affordable options for study abroad. You will pay your regular PSU tuition at PSU, and pay for room and board and other expenses on site.

At the same time, exchanges are less structured than affiliate programs, and it will require more legwork on your part to figure out ahead of time which courses you will take and get them approved for credit, and find out about housing options and everything else that you might want to know about studying at our partner university. You main source of information and support will be the international office of the foreign university, so explore their website, send them an e-mail saying that you are from Pitt State and interested in studying at their university on exchange, and try to learn as much as you can in advance.

You will need to be extremely flexible, as it often happens that you will get 7 courses pre-approved hoping that 4 will work out, and when you arrive they are all taught at the same time on the same day, and you can't take the courses you expected and you need to find 3 more courses. This happens, and it's frustrating, but it can be worked out. So students who choose to study abroad on exchange have to have a high tolerance for ambiguity. If this is you, then this will be a wonderful experience for you.

Message from the President:

Welcome to Gyeongsang National University! I hope your online visit to our school will be a chance for you to learn about and begin to develop affection for our school. I also hope the information and knowledge you acquire from our school site will be assets for laying the foundation of your future prosperity. The mission of Gyeongsang National University (GNU) is one of Pioneering. The eyes of pioneers see far beyond the present to the future. The hands of pioneers change barren lands to fertile lands. The hearts of pioneers are caring of their people. GNU founded in 1948, and for 60 years it has been educating talented students who have served society and led us to national prosperity. Our graduates of diverse interests and profound professional knowledge are now leading their pioneer lives in various places. The 20th century was an era of conflict caused by ideological polarization. The 21st century, however, is expected to become an era of diversity, one centering on values. Individuals will search for minute knowledge with careful scrutiny. All countries will be driven in pursuit of national profits. Thus, the distinction between foes and allies will be determined only by the principle of power based on knowledge. GNU is contriving ways to transform the current situation into a pivotal opportunity for advancement. We won't be slowing our pace of progress in the midst of society's rapid changes. We will continue our effort to educate talented people who are aware of historical summonses and able to reflect on the past. By doing so, GNU, as a national university, will be doing its duty to realize the wishes of our country and its people. While becoming an institution fully approved of and endorsed by its community and its country, GNU will prosper powerfully as a university capable of contributing to world history.

I hope you will give us your continuous concern and love. Thank you!
